Segued Songs
Segue n. (sey-gwey) An uninterrupted transition from one musical composition to another.
On today's Time Traveler program, we will play a set of songs that the artists segued together on an album when released. For example, Santana's "Black Magic Woman/Gypsy Queen", Bishop Allen's "The Monitor/Rain", Pink Floyd's "Brain Damage/Eclipse", and the Beatles' "Mean Mr. Mustard/Polythene Pam/She Came in Through the Bathroom Window" all flowed seamlessly from one to the other.
What segued songs can you think of from your favorite artists? E-mail me your suggestions at KZSUTimeTraveler@comcast.net. Or call (650) 723-9010 during my show on Friday 10/17.

Memory Select: Tom Djll stops by to discuss "Mockracy," being performed Oct. 18 and 19 at Oakland Metro. "Mockracy is an audiovisual farcical history tour through America's media jungle, populated by political animals and televised egos. With sections of the orchestra in pitched battle, a mad President/King and operatic accoutrements, live narration and interactive video and electronics, Mockracy is a saturation bombing of the senses that will leave you in shock and awe." He'll have snippets of Mockracy's 2003 performance as well as other surprises.
